PILATES & ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY DANCE
It is a course for dancers to strengthen and align the whole body incorporating functional stability.
Students will learn fundamental principles of the Pilates method like control, precision and using breath to support movement.
This method is highly beneficial for dancers and athletes because it develops deep abdominal engagement in order to move efficiently and effectively from the center.
The method also helps develop fluidity in movement and increases overall body awareness.
ROLLER COASTER -
The main objective of this course is to rid the body of all unnecessary mannerisms and tensions. The training combines contemporary dance with various techniques of body awareness training (Release Technique, Laban Movement Analysis, Feldenkrais, Pilates, Yoga, etc.). It is not about teaching a method with fixed rules, but learning to listen to one's body, experiencing and respecting its fundamental physical foundations such as weight, momentum, energy flow, direction, space, time, coordination, etc. The training includes stretching, manual practice, improvisation, exploring our movements as well as traditional modern dance technique exercises. In the second half of the workshop, a deeper body awareness is developed using a choreography phrase. It is a training for contemporary dancers or performers who are looking for a deeper, more diverse approach to movement and dance.
